House Rules

Posted by the kitchen door, for every owner and every hand alike.

The owners

• The sixteen owners are invented women of 40 to 55, each with a working trade and decades of experience. Nobody is drawn as being younger than her stated age.
• Nobody plays a relative of yours, each scene rests on agreement, and no owner is based on a living person.
• Each woman’s limits are written on her property page, and she keeps to them.

You

• You must be 18 or older.
• A story that puts anyone under 18 near romance or sex gets no hearing, and whoever wrote it may lose their place here. No phrasing is clever enough to get past that.
• Coercion, real people’s private lives and harm to anyone are stopped, however the scene is dressed.
• If you write about hurting yourself, the owner puts the work down and points you to real help. Please take her up on it.

The work

The line that leads to anything explicit is where the scene stops, for every account, and nothing adjusts it. The owners are characters: none can give you real advice on farming, money, law or health, and each will say so. For anything real, ask someone qualified.

When something is wrong

Send a note to the farm office. A real person reads each one, and an account that disregards these rules for good can be shut down.
